business came out. J.W.C. (their Father) has been quite sick. Rode out to the Park - (feeder path) at 5. It was the opening of the subway and bands and flags galore. Saw Gilmore, who bestowed a popcorn fritter upon me. Miss Flack brought me some lovely lilies of the valley today. Tonight I went to the Lyceum with Laura to hear Chas. Hawtrey in "A message from Mars". It was fine. The study of the character of an utterly selfish man & his change. Char & Claude were there. May 21 Sun. A simply gorgeous day. Sun and blue skies and blossoms and birds & greenery. Felt pretty rocky when I got up and Papa had neuralgia but we started off for a walk about 10:30 and were glad we went. Took the Brighton car and from Brighton went across - north on the road to the Float Bridge till we came to the bridge over Palmer's Glen. Climbed thro' fences and across stepping stones till we got to the loveliest spots - little cascades and things. I took Papa's picture at one corner and then climbed down (I mean "clambered") near the rivers of an old mill, into the bed of the stream - which I explored (and photographed) Then we climbed up to the real path - on the top - and a more lovely one I've seldom seen. Papa and I went a long, long way, then I left him resting and followed it way down into the Dugway, till I could see a distant Sodus car crossing
