Con & Edith in the "Cinderella" in the Creek. The boys were flying kites and it was great fun - A little girl told me all about it. Edith went home pretty soon and I went over and sat on the bank of the river till sunset. Everything is young and green now and birds hop around and twitter and one wonders how the earth happens to be so lovely. Of course I had a late supper & rather a sleepy evening. May 22 Sun. A lovely day. Couldn't resist going forth on "Diana" this morning - to Davises - Helen was washing stocks and getting read to go to N.Y. and I coaxed Chattie out and we went upon on the Pinnacle. Found Catherine Crichton there - with two crackers for us - and sat down to an animated conversation compassing all corners of the earth - which was spread out below us! Was invited to dinner but didn't stay. Spent the afternoon reading in my dear pretty poppy room. Later - 8 o'clock or so - rode over to Lura's. Mrs. Penfield & still there & Helen & Chattie dropped in - didn't stay very long and barely reached home before it rained. Mon. May 23. Warm. Lunched with G.C.B. at the French restaurant but didn't fancy it. Claude got home. Char comes in two weeks! Tues. May 24 Lovely day. The Queen's birthday and Grandmother Bragdon's. "Recreation"
