had to go 'way over to the "freight tracks" to take it. About half
Fairport seemed to be coming to the city. We all enjoyed
ourselves and I was home at ten - good and sleepy.
Aug. 28. Sun.
Still lovely. Breakfast at 9:10. Con called
soon afterward. Edith is better (she was
pretty bad Friday and yesterday) He told us all about how he was going to take
Edith to
California for her health! &c. &c.!! I'm glad for
Edith's sake, poor little Edith. Made prints and did duties and then read the
"Nanlaka" till late p.m., when I walked up to Cro'nest & had a nice little visit with the
dear Boy, Jo & Kath, Carl
& Peruzzi, declined a supper invitation and took the car
(South Ave) over to Con's stopping at Carrie Gould's a minute to hear
about her trip home. Found George Humphrey
at Hillman's. Edith
prone on the couch and all rather blue. Didn't stay so very long.
Aug. 29. Mon.
Still fine. Saw Frank Davis a few minutes
& tonight went down to the "Lawyer's Co-op". And had a long
visit with Miss Crichton, who just arrived
from St. Helena last night. Having started
to start Thursday p.m!
Aug 30 Tues.
Another perfect day ("nice weather we're having") Rode around to
Con's - He's packing up - with
Harriette
's help, and they were both wrecks. Edith
too. Papa went down to call on the
Stull's
at the lake. Mother
and I are invited to
