Went out on the pier and watched the yachts coming from Sodus &c. Alice

& Lew Jones were out there. I saw "Luther" Foote too, fishing. He is a bore! The worst kind because he doesn't dream it. Why should people like that have long and healthy lives and like "J.G." Averill for instance, die young. Char says his Mother does grieve for him so, She paid a large share of the Gymkana Sports at the Country Club this p.m. I am so sorry for the dear lady. It was beautiful out between lake and sky. I was there over an hour. Then came in, crossed the ferry, and went up to see if Mae and John were home. They were fishing in "the Lady Mae" just in front and insisted I should stay to dinner which was just ready. So I did. The house looked beautiful. They have moved a lot of their things down (rugs, chairs, book- cases &c) and had it all trimmed with apple blossoms. Of course I had to leave early and got up to town by sunset. Strolled quite a bit thro' Maplewood Park and went down on the bridge to see the Falls, always beautiful. of Rested a few minute at Edith's. Later played "Flinch" with Mother & she won the contest (25 games).
