. He was such a fine strong handsome athletic such fellow and just boning down to his Architecture after a year abroad - with everything before him. It does seem such a pity! Lunched with Charella (and a Mrs. Martin) at Sibley's this noon. Nov. 22 Tues. Another busy day worked till 6 again but actually finished all my blanks, much to my surprise! It was quite a relief to start off so. After supper dressed &c. and Mother went to the station with me (Papa to the car) We had some waiting as the train was late, and got into conversa- tion with a woman going to Po'keepsie (about Mrs. Servis and her work, mostly, She is just about leaving for California) When the train came, Mother came out to the "Scotland" with me. It was quite full and I had to take an upper berth, tho' I engaged it Saturday. Got to bed after eleven - and slept quite a bit but took cold from draught. Nov. 23. Wed. Woke with a start at 5 minutes of 7, (we were due in Springfield at 7:40) but found, when I got out that we
