four or five miles hilly - as the Cargill
man said I would - but the road like a floor - so hard & smooth - and the
views pretty - and if I had to climb up
there was always the coming down. Just before I
struck the "river bottom" on the last hill, I sat under a tree and read some
more and watched the auto's (counted 40 today!) and the boats on the river.
They way from there was level and right along the river. Passed an auto
going on 3 tires - the 4th being in the front seat! Stopped to look up and
down from Ballantine's bridge (the river was speckled with boats here) and to take a picture of a pretty
grassy bend in Black Creek - for
Con and Edith. Then zipped home striking the path again where it crosses
the road - and finding it really a pleasant change. Came back by the feeder.
There is no prettier path anywhere - and crossed
Clarissa St. bridge just at sunset. Found Chattie had phoned me to "go somewhere" with her & Edith had been here in the morning. Took a nap
(with Zenda) Then supper & the N.Y. papers. Badly
sunburned. Howy
