Thurs. June 2
More rain - loads of it. I keep busy & rather like the North side
"considering". Gracie Bingham
was in the other day and invited us out there a Saturday p.m. She's been sick.
Malaria. Tonight we made "picnic dishes" at cooking school. The
Maxons & Wattles have moved out of
the corner & it is for rent,Zaza
was early!
Fri. June 3.J.W.C. is certainly a terror! and a good deal
of a fool - which I like less, I don't see how I'm going to stand him! for he
thinks he has the wisdom of Solomon!
Char came home tonight! Claude went for her after supper and they stopped a
moment - in the carriage, just as I was starting for "The Sword of the
King" (Nat'l stock) with Miss McCaffrey.
Saw Mr. Stuart, Miss Bonesteel's husband, waiting outside
afterwards.
Sat. June. 4
Pleasant. Very busy about one! Our first half- holiday! and hot & rather
mad at J.W.C.
Went down to the "Y" and lunched with
Helen. Then downstairs while she did her
hair & we had a long, long visit. (Mrs. Armstrong,
Miss Peck
's love affairs &c.&c.) Started out in such intense heat we had
to have ice cream frappe or something & by the time we got to the
Masonic Temple it suddenly turned cold so we went back for
coats & H's umbrella! Shopped at
Sibley's & finally put H on a University car (going
to a "committee")
