Around the corner was pretty "Duazyupleze" - flying a yellow flag. Here we stopped - & Laura & I dashed thro' it while the rest loaded groceries &c. into a rowboat & Mr. Hansen rowed us over to "St. Helena". Papa & Mama Davis welcomed us on the dock & Christine

soon had a nice supper ready. Afterward we all rowed over for the milk and down the main channel. Laura was delighted. Dear "Mandalay" looks sweet. Went bye-bye rather early - in "Charles He's room". Aug. 5. Thursday Nice fresh morning and rather breezy all day. After breakfast took a walk around - to "Charlotte" &c. a new seat in the channel. We can't reach "Bab- Ballad rocks" this year. The water is too high. Rowed over to "Duazyupleze" and found the piazza full of Indians. Mrs. Pomawagawan and numerous descendants (only one of whom talked our language) She had a four-month old pappoose in a beaded case which she unlaced for our benefit. One curly headed youngster was called "John Edward" and a little girl "Madeline Florence King". They left while we were there and I kodaked them while Mrs. Mosher swept off the piazza.
