Apr. 26 Tues. Papering began today - Yellow in the parlors, yellow poppies in my room and "granite" in the bath room. Took some violets down to Helen at the "Y" and lunched with her this noon. Sat in the parlor tonight - "comfort and chaos" and played flinch &c. Apr. 27 Wed. Lunched with G.C.B. at Sibley's again and shopped. Got a pretty new light coat. Sat in our done-back-parlor tonight. Went to Bickford's and selected a velour cover for my dear little davenport - green, of course. Apr. 28 Thurs. Lunched at Sibley's alone today. Then called on Nellie - (Willie Stupp is now in the clothing business!) Then shopped a little in the pouring rain! JWC's office was moved around to 217 today. I've been promenading around to 200 all the week! Was used up & cross tonight. Apr. 29 Fri. Long dictatation from JWC. most of the day in 217 while we watched the old Sibley block opposite being rapidly demolished. Had birthday dinner with Papa at Sibley's & then went to Scrantom's with him to order a book he wants for a birthday present. Hung pictures all the evening in 2 parlors - with the step ladder. Claude has had an intimation from Mr. Miller of Ithaca that if he will accept the chair of Architecture at Cornell it will be offered him!
