They had a nice grate fire waiting for us and a nice salad supper. And later one of Edith's "Mt. Morris beaux", Harry Swett, called and they sang and played in the parlor, mostly, till 11pm. She had on her pretty white birthday dress. We had a nice visit by the fire. Susie Parker had called. Sept. 5. Monday Labor Day - and beautiful. We had breakfast about 8:30 and a nice visit altogether in the living room. Later Mother went for a drive with the Dr. and "Harry

" came and he and Edith and I walked up to the the golf-links (which I had never seen - since they were "links") and all over them. They go from the paper mill way out to the deer park - back of the powder magazine - and are beautiful - we walked nearly all around and I took a couple of pictures of my companions in "kidding" attitudes. "The Champion" of the Bonnie Briar club is in the distance in one of them. We sat on the club house piazza awhile and then walked down town and had soda-water, and to the station and found that the train was late - saw Mother & Dr. &c. &c. Then came back and sat on the piazza with Mrs. Andrews and took her picture with "Buddie" Edsall ( Josie
Fielder
's little girl) out on the horse block. Buddy was sewing. Papa came about one and was invited to dinner (so was "Harry
") and we all ate together and then visited till train time (3)
