spend the night. It poured off and on - April showers. I went to lunch with Papa at the Whitcomb and then to the "Y" to chat with Helen. Played "flinch" with Mother & read "In the Fog" later. Apr 9. Sat. More April showers. Cool enough for JWC's (J.G.'s) gaslog. Spent a good deal of the day writing to "E.V. Seeler". Felt pretty "rocky" myself. Read on my sofa, with dear Zozie, before supper. Char & Claude were down a little while tonight. Apr. 10 Sun. Home all day - rather done up - Char & Claude at Cro'nest & Mrs. Hoyt's. Helen Davis came up to supper. She says Mrs. Scott, Miss Newton, Miss Delate &c. have gone to Pittsford to live and come in every day by trolley! Read tonight. Apr. 11. Mon. JWC. has a very bad cough & went home early. J.G. went to N.Y. for a day (Rep. Convention) We had our final Perfects Ball at Mabel's (after much misunder- standing of dates &c. &c.!) I was the booby to- night and got "Hope of the Nation"! Chat got first. Dolly
 got the pin. Nellie the red pack of cards. Ediththe blue and Chat the ships. Mary the pencils (which she gave to Mabel!) Had a nice time after we got started. I wore my "silk and diamond". Helen & Catherine Crichton didn't come. Had fruit jelly and "wit" and "bon mots".
