"Cornwall" - we found a Huronic lady lying on the sofa - Mrs.
Colwell - too tired and sea - sicky to eat, but her husband had gone to
supper. We found a member of others we were traveling with, in the dining
room. Gov. Cummins & his friend and others. After supper
(which wasn't bad) Laura was wishing
for her Flinch pack. When Mrs. Colwell
said her husband had gone out to get one. So when he came on we played the
rest of the evening. Mr. C.
and Laura against Mrs.
C.
& I. It was pretty slow for the old sports like Laura
and I but we passed the evening very well.
Aug. 2. Tues.
At 11:30 the boat was reported by telephone and we took a moonlight bus ride
to the dock and piled into the old midland without hardly looking at her -
delighted to find a cabin reserved for us. We were soon asleep - to be aware
during the night of strange noises - supposed to be the festive Midland making
her way blithely down St. Mary's river - but alack - a day when
Fair Day appeared and first call for breakfast rang thro' the boat I looked
out and behold you! We were at the same dock where we embarked last night!
