Dec 31. Sat. A beautiful warm sunny day. Mother and Father went to May's
funeral this morning, but I couldn't I was so busy. JW's been to the bank for inspection the last few days, and we've had a door cut through to the private office and business has been generally interrupted. Harry
 the elevator man who has been there so long leaves tonight. Mary was in this p.m. (at Lura's) and later Hamilton D. (with chocolates) he says Addie McIntosh is coming thro' next week and will stop over He walked down to the 4 corners with me. Tonight Lura, Laura and I went "up in the left" to see Faversham and Julie Opp. &c in "Letty". Quite entertain- ing - as it was so well done and so well dressed - but really a low down play. One scene - on a roof - where a photographer takes a "group" picture is very good. It lasted late (five acts) and I was late home. Rode down in one car with Flora Vogel and up in another with Miss Dinehart and Miss Burleigh. Staid up to do cash accounts and things and heard all the row of whistles and things at 12 and a fire alarm 10 minutes after! The Rogers had a fire in their living room the day after Clare's
 wedding!
