her to the Matinee. The Skipper and I
took a walk down to the Nellie Mac's (He
invited me to go to Cook's) and I went back
to the office. This evening I went to "The Yankee Consul" with
the girls. Mary, Nellie, Edith, Lura, Marie,
Laura!
Jan 4. Wed
We rather expected Edith Andrews to-
night, but she didn't come. Went thro' this morning & tried to phone me
and failed. Had quite a visit with
Ernest Millard in the station, waiting for
the train. May Gallagher & her young man affected there,
too. In the evening saw John Drew In "The Duke of
Killiecrankie" - up top with the Macs.
Jan 5. Thurs.
I enjoyed it. It's real funny. Tired today home tonight. Read and played
Flinch.
Jan 6. Fri.
Big storm began today. Mary had the
"Perfects" and the Davises, Lura & Miss Crichton arrived in state in a carriage!
We had a very nice time and St. Louis Fair Souvenirs for everybody.
Some very funny ones were fans with eye holes - sort of masks.
Mabel & Miss C. enter-
tained us. Waded to the corner but got cars ok.
Jan 7. Sat.
Stormed all day. Cars coming in groups. Rode 4 times. Papa read aloud tonight.
Jan 8. Sun.
Fine winter's day - went over to Mary's
Emma & Fay were there. They made me stay to supper. Had a very nice time. Mary
