they are mostly wide awake and many yowling!) Am very very busy & J.W. is very very
deliberate - and poor Mr. Gilmore, I'm afraid, almost wild!
Staid till nearly 5:30 tonight and then had to sign some important letters
& proposals myself. Left a note at Powers for
Mrs. Dodson and went to the ticket office and engaged
"Lower 12" (or whatever) for Tuesday!
Zozie is very affectionate (he's so glad we didn't take him ti the show) He spent the
evening on the table between Papa and I.
Mother went to the Show to get
Zenda.
Claude saw her this noon and he knew him
& was overjoyed. (So was he.)
Nov. 20 Sun.
A Lazy day. A morning of getting ready for my journey - so many little odds
and ends of things. Dear little Zenda, back from the show - was
trapsing around - so happy! After dinner I read the "Merry Anne" - a
Lake Michigan and Huron smuggling story, and later walked
over to Lura's. Alice Weaver
was there but went soon. Laura was there,
busy with work - all of them - for the Opening! Had a nice supper of coffee
&c. and then read a Sherlock Holmes story aloud. Got caught
in the rain coming home (with my pretty new suit, too) but not badly. Staid up
over maps and things and didn't sleep well.
Nov. 21. Mon.
Was down very at 8 this morning for a very busy
day. Short noon hour and stay till
11/19/04
