Rode to Cro'nest this morning for a nice little chat upstairs with Char - and "hello" to Harry, who came home from the hospital while I was there. Went over to South park and read by the links for awhile - and then home by the feeder-path - which was at its best - all golden rod and asters and pretty reflections in the water. After dinner made prints till 4:30 and then rode over to Davises - "George

" was there, but about leaving, Chat, Helen and I went down and called on Mrs. Charlie Ellis, who has just moved up there. Has bought a house. Fortunately Charlie's life was insured for $10000! She is very nice. Had supper at the Davis's - a warm, windy day. A long talk with the girls, after supper. Sept. 12. Monday. Beautiful. Took a long ride at 5:30 - my favorite, thro' Highland Avenue and the Park. Stopped at Cro'nest a minute, too Sept. 13. Tues. Con is back from Obercliffe today. Cool and Cloudy. Mother and I went over to Lura's and had a "Flinch orgie" with her and "Marie" and quite a jolly evening - ice cream &c. The Coes are away. Sept. 14 Wed. Rainy and horrid all day & evening. Went to the Erie train at 6 and met Edith Andrews - on
