Rode down Main St. for miles At the railroad bridge stopped and watched the freight trains and switches. It's a lovely sight at dusk - like Harvey used to draw - and fascinating to watch. I don't believe it could be lovlier. Char had invited me to dinner, but I had declined, to take a long ride so off I started before 11, on Diana, with Kodak bag &c. Went out the pretty feeder path. Met Will Harris and "Cecil" Hartigan on Elmwood Bridge - Then went out the Scottsville path. They have built a new bathing tank near the YWCA club house. The path was damp and covered with leaves in some places and smell of October. The summachs were blazing. The river was bright and so was the feeder. I had to
