and about 5 put on my rain clothes and went over to Davis' and had a nice little chat with
the family. The Skipper is going to
Pointe-au-Baril tomorrow (reaches there Friday).
Has rented Oneishta toMr.
Holland - jollied me about "Jack

Laura was there and we sat around the
open fire and Mrs. Penfield talked about
Honolulu and Japan and then
we ate another supper and Hamilton

going up and light one in my room.
May 16 Mon.
My birthday. My! but I'm getting to be an old lady! Lots of nice
presents - as always. People are too good. Lunched with Papa
at Sibley's & saw
Nellie a little while at Glenny's. She misses
Mary, surely. Herb Caswell called this eve. He is
really very entertaining. Claude has
been very nice to him getting him into the
Club. &c. and he seems to enjoy himself here.
May 17 Tues.
Fine day and a busy one. Edith J.
phoned me and we went to the Lake right after
supper to call on the De Graff bride -
(of
Gananofree) - Saw her and "Billy" ahead of us, up the walk, and had to walk slow
most of the way behind them. They went on
