James and Planzi sailed for Europe from Phila.
roads I'd never seen before and finally thro' to the Monroe Ave. road, near the brick yards - (where large signs were posted "PRIVET.KEEP.OUT.") Papa came down from Dansville to spend Sunday. He read aloud to Mother tonight. Sep. 18 Sun.
Heard about Arno & Tessie
Fine, cloudy, breezy morning - looked like rain but didn't till afternoon. Miss Flack came on her wheel at 9:15 and soon afterward I went with her (bareheaded) out to Gracie Bingham's - a fine ride for an autumn morning. Gracie was ailing - but adorned a big rocking chair on the piazza, little Miss Spencer in dark blue muslin was reading a "Marie Corelli" and "Percy
" came and smoked. We had a nice time & Miss S.
wants me to go up the lakes with her (!). We left about 11:45 and I was early, so stopped atCro'nest for a nice chat with Char on the sunny piazza. Fitted "Peruzzi's" new blue leather collar. Papa came strolling up and we left together. A nice chicken dinner (dear Mother) and a long rest and read up in my pretty room. Late & light supper. Early to bed! Sept. 19 Mon. Had another nice long ride (out Univ. Ave. way to Culver road &c.) tonight, but got a bad puncture and I had to walk home from the bridge (Court) "Flinch" tonight, as usual.
