Finally I rowed slowly away - past the big rock, took a farewell shot and paddled down past Isle-of-View and the back of St. Helena to Yoctanqen and gave Mrs. Howson (in a blue Kimona) the milk. I tho't she was a little reluctant, and Helen in- formed me later that the milk belonged to the Hollands, up at Oneishta! It was a fortunate mistake, however, for it gave us a chance to call and see the Skipper's and Mary
's enterprise so after breakfast Helen, Laura, Christine
& I rowed over to Howson's. Had a jolly little call (in the boat) got the milk and took it up to Oneishta. The boys were just starting to get it, Mr. Holland away on a yacht and Mrs. H.
just getting up (tho' it was after ten!) She was very nice and showed us all about. The cottage is very pretty and well furnished (the dishes especially, and the rustic furniture all fine) It is in sight of the Pointe and faces it and the Bay - rather a bleak and bald looking view. I should have prefered it facing. The south oreast, toward the lovely islands, but that's simply a matter of opinion. The Hollands are enjoy- ing it. They've rented it for the summer
