Nov. 5. Sat. A horrid misty rain. Slime under foot and chill in ones bones. "Used the street car freely" today. Had quite a long chat with Florence Roger's, in Lura's, tonight. Mabel and Clare

are going to N.Y. for a week. Read Harper's tonight - and wrote. "The Marriage of William Ashe" proves very interesting. J.W. was very nice about my going Thanksgiving. Nov. 6. Sun. Home till late this p.m. Wrote Con & Edith a steamer letter (in reply to one from Con, with map &c.) They sail on the "Allianca" Wednesday for Colon. Read &c. Towards dark I took a car and went up to the Orphan Asylum grounds and saw the new cottages &c. and then walked down to Davis - met Ida MacArthur on the way. The Lees (formerly of Avondale Park) were there but soon went. Chat went to the "Y" to play for Mr. Van - Valkenberg to sing - but soon arrived home. Arrayed in a new tailor sent - very pretty. She was entertaining, as ever. Stopped at Frank's going down, and found him & Lillian eating sandwiches in the kitchen. Went on to Mosher's. Saw Mr. M. and he lent me their book of photos of Georgian Bay - fine! Walked home to a late supper. Helen was supping with Edith Scott's - now at Miss Belle Clarke's! Nov. 7. Mon. Still cool. Went to the Lyceum tonight with Laura to an "opening night" of
