" isn't going up till next week - a month later than last year. She also says Mr. Hartley is married! To a Miss West of Philadelphia whom he met at Byng Inlet last Summer! I wonder what Allan Dymond will say! We had a nice chat and Miss Ford acted "The cowardly lion" for me before I went back! Mrs. Penfield is visiting Lura. Went to bed quite exhausted tonight. May 14 Sat. Walked down in the sun, but took an umbrella this morning, which was a lucky thing for it poured! I never saw it rain much harder than it did this p.m. J.W.C. got back. I helped Gilmore write a hard letter to Mr. Wilson of Richmond. Tonight shopped for Mother - mostly birthday presents for myself. Poured all the evening. Herb. Caswell is in town and Claude has put him up at the Valley Club. May 15 Sun. We all slept rather late. Looked like clearing, early, but after noon began to pour and kept it up an p.m. & evening. I read Tennyson & dear Peter Ibbetson and fondled Zozie &c.
