Mar. 1. Tues. The family were all up betimes - and Connie with a fearful cold. The walks were very soggy but the sun shone some, a busy - busy day - till almost 6:45, in fact! But I went to cooking school, just the same, and made lemon pie. Zaza not there. Mar. 2. Wed. A Beautiful day at last. The boys actually playing marbles. (Went to Mabel's school with Chattie - watched the babies in Kindergarten.) Busy - Busy - Miss Crossen (who was burned out) has moved in opposite - at 37 East Ave - very convenient. I actually went home at 5:45!! Played flinch with the family and finished "Jane Eyre." Mar. 3. Thurs. Claude went to N.Y. this morning - the dear boy. It simply poured this forenoon. Then a cold wave came along and it froze up hard - and last night we had a thunder storm! Mother went to Hillman's to lunch. I went to the Whitcomb grille with Papa and then [illegible] back - It was so cold! Sewed & read tonight. Mar. 4. Fri. Sunny! Everything keeps moving at our bldg. The dry goods people are about ready to open. Lunched at Harneds! The Perfects met at Edith's tonight.Florence

brought some very funny pictures of cows her 2nd grade made. We all roared over them! Had the usual Pedro - soup - conversation & late car home. Took Zozie to bed! Mar. 5. Sat. Some warmer. Made blueprints. J.W.C. sick with the grippe - poor man!
