Dec. 10 Sat. I certainly tho't I was going to have pneumonia today. Such a cough and such a sore chest & lungs. (J.G. has a cold too, he says!) Shopped tonight and then went home and took all the medicines which had been recommended, a mustard bath &c. &c. Dec. 11 Sun. Some of the medicines (antiphlogestine?) made my lungs better, but I coughed and felt rocky all day. Read fool books, made blue prints and tended cats, sent off my "article"! Dec. 12 Mon. Had to go down today on account of a Post Office brief, worked all day on it. Three Mechanics Institute girls came here to room - friends of Elsie's. She persuaded Mother. They seem very nice however, Miss Florence Charlton, Miss Florence Looney Dec. 13 Tues. and Miss Myrtle Swick. They didn't really move in till today. Cold still bad but I got off the letter to the P.O. Commission tonight. Dec. 14 - 15 Wed & Thurs. Working on the brief. Sent it off at 6:45 Thursday. Shop, read &c. Heard from Hillman's who arrived in San- Francisco December 8th (Claude had letter.) Dec. 16 Fri. Lunched with Helen at the "Y" today, but didn't stay long.
