Went home to dinner (boiled!) with Lura
tonight and she told me about her trip &c.
Laura came over later and we played
Flinch &c. Home about 9:30, pretty tired.
Nov. 2 Wed.
Begin to feel better and "show some interest in life" - jolly
Vanderbilt
&c. Spent the evening on a "Tabard
Inn" puzzle for which I expect to get a prize of $500 Nov. 25!!!
Nov. 3 Thurs.
Lovely day. Claude's wedding day. I
rode out there tonight, stopping at Amelie
Frey's to see the new baby "Dorette"
and Donald, who is very cunning. Had a
nice little visit with Amelie.
Char and Claude made me stay to dinner with them - a nice chicken and
spinach one - and we had a real good time together. He'd given her some big
yellow crysanthemums in the brass jar. Harry
has gone - to N.Y.
and they are alone again (except "Carl" and
"Puzzi" and the cook!) Came home with the
Harper's, Collier's &c. and read and played
Flinch with Mother.
Papa read aloud while I re-strung my green beads.
Nov. 4 Fri.
Looked rather like rain, but didn't. So the Republicans had a very Grand
parade - 30 companies - 50 minutes passing. Mother and I viewed it at
Greig St. corner - 9 to 10. She'd been to a church supper.
Papa got restless & went down town.
