Mr. Craven & the Spencers (of Wanbeek) were just leaving. Had letters and papers (the mail!) to read tonight. Up at McIntosh's they had a lovely collie with two or three beautiful puppies - about a lapful a piece. They were dears. Aug. 6. Sat. A high wind all day so we couldn't even got off the island. White caps were running down Mosher Bay and Bragdon Bay was a sight. The waves and wind came tearing thro' the little channel between us and Wanbeek and covered the dock so that Mr. D. & Christine
 spent a good deal of the forenoon putting an extra story on it. The rest of us were rather lazy - in hammocks & with magazines &c. We walked to "Charlotte" (wind!) and down the other way - but "Bab Ballad" rocks are inaccessible this year on acct. of high water. Mrs. Davis sat by the fire inside We played "Flinch" in the afternoon and "Pedro" in the evening and Mr. & Mrs. Howson managed to get over after supper. Mrs. H.
