her way to college. She came up to supper (a good one) and we had the usual nice visit in which she "told her troubles" (It's Morris, the violinist now) but "Freas" is home and "very nice") 'Phoned Con and he came up the took us to the station - to Edith's delight - we saw her on the car and then Con came back home with me for a long evening visit by the fire. If I should say all I thot yest - it would fill this book! Sept. 15 Thurs. The weather has improved. Met "George
" tonight and he said he was up Tuesday when we were away (so was Con). So he came up tonight and we had quite a pleasant chat - about houses - matrimony &c. (Oh Chattie!) He offered me two primers and a geography for "Mandalay". Jim starts today for Europe. Sept. 16. Fri Fine day. Lunched at the "Y" but couldn't visit with Helen much as I had to go to the dressmaker's (new blue & green plaid) Sibley's &c. Tonight met Edith J.and we went down to Stull's by invitation, to dinner. John was out in the new motor-boat "Lady Mae" when we arrived, but coming in. He was real funny, talking about "Alphonse" (The butler) &c. & Mae told us all about her lovely trip South - to Charlottesville, N.C. and then to Harrisburg, Pa. They walked down to the car with us. It tried to be moonlight. Sept. 17. Sat. Still fine. This weather is "all right". Took a long ride tonight - up thro' Brighton across the canal thro' the "heights", back of Cobb's Hill & down a pretty
