Aug. 7. Sun.
It was a beautiful morning. I woke up at six and couldn't stand it so got up so quietly that even Mrs. Davis didn't hear me, and slipped out and took the steel boat and went for a row. It was quite still and oh, so beautiful! A sort of a Japanese morning. First I cruised around Bonaparte Bay and took a snap from the "offing" of the sister islands. Then "Doyouasyoupleze" hove it in sight on the port bow all quiet and still and early - morning - looking. I rowed back over the old familiar moonlight path the Skipper and I knew so well last year, and out thro' the little passage they have named for Mrs. HoytAug. 7. Sun.
