Then rode out to Davis' and sat on the piazza with Mrs. Davis nearly two hours. She told me all her "troubles" &c. and was quite entertaining. Lura & Charlotte had gone to the Lake. Then I rode down to Edith's and sat on the piazza half & an hour in the "coolth"- which was a mistake, for I had neuralgia very badly all night in consequence & was. Jun. 13 Mon. a wreck today - but had to work extra hard as Mr. Gilmore took advantage of the beautiful weather and staid at the Lake. Played flinch a little tonight. June 14 Tues. Bad night. Stayed in bed till about 12. Then went down to lunch & to Dr. Neefus's
(got a puncture doing it) & then to the office for a couple of hours (all I could stand) Then home just before a hard thunder storm. There was another in the evening. (Buell Mills & Henrietta Allen's wedding came between) A sneak thief came to Wegmans and to Cooper's this p.m. & stole jewelry and money. All Hubbell Park was excited in consequence. Jun. 15 Wed. Had a better night last night, but didn't get dressed all day. Face badly swollen on tooth side. Read, played Flinch with dear Mother. Sewed a little & loafed a good deal. Herb Caswell was here this evening. He is very nice & entertaining
