May 6. Sat.
Showery. It poured at 5 when I walked down to
Scrantom's with Edith. Mrs. Penfield is back -
for - good - at Lura's - & Frank
Trapp, who's to sing at St. Pauls. Tonight went to
see Faversham in the "Squawman" with
Laura, Lura, Mary & Idy (!) It was very good - a la the "Virginian"

began singing at St. Pauls. Borrowed Harpers
& read Lady Kitty. About 10:30 - after I got home. A telegram

come. I told her I'd go tomorrow night. She felt very badly, of course. He must have

May 8. Mon.
Shopped this morning and again this noon - with Mother (Black silk waist, suit, gloves, petticoat &c. &c.)
J.G. was so wrought up I decided not to go
