Jan 16. Mon. Heard Raymond on "Brussels" tonight. The Rogers were very late and sat back. Miss C. & I had quite a visit. Jan 17-18. Tues.-Wed. Snow. "Eat, read, sleep, play flinch" &c. Am sleeping fine lately (knocked wood here) no neuralgia (did it again!) J.W. getting ready to go to NY so Wednesday was very "busy day"! Jan 19. Thurs. Went over to the East High School tonight to Raymond's lecture "St. Petersburg". It was very good. Took Edith & Mary sat with us. Chattie was there with the Bridges Jan 20. Fri. I'm writing speeches for J.G. now J.W. is away, The ad of the rival "Expanding chute" was in the Democrat this a.m. (& a N.Y. paper yesterday) which purturbed "us" somewhatly. Lunched At Sibley's. Read the "Expatriates" tonight. Jan 21. Sat. Snowed all day. Very wintry but not cold. Wrote JG's speech this p.m. Shopped tonight & read later. Jan 22. Sun. Went down to the "Y" to hear the end of Caroline Atwater Mason's "speech". Had tea with Helen & Cristine

& then Helen & I went up to Lura's to supper. Read "Elizabeth in R" when I got home. Today began the Russian Revolution 2100 shot dead & 5000 wounded in St. Petersburg. Jan 23. Mon. but I didn't know about it till Monday morning It thrilled us all - all day. Poor People! Tonight went to Raymond's lecture "Rome" at the church 3 Rogers were there & Mary & Edith, but no Kitty Crichton
