Belle, who was so interested in James
' going to Europe &c (he goes with Reuben Planz Sept. 17) Tonight, Lura & her mother and Mrs. Penfield came over and we had an evening of Flinch and a real good time. They all seemed to Enjoy it. Had ice cream &c. Bed late, of course. cooler. Aug 24 Wed. Still very fine. J.W. went to Buffalo in his new Auto yesterday, and back today. (4 kms
running time) He's kind-a used up with country roads. tho: Went out to Cro'nest at 5 o'clock and visited with Mrs. Wilkinson and Mal. Kath came over from the hospital (where Harry is) and they insisted I sh'd. stay to supper, so I did. Got acquainted with Peruzzi, the new kitten - & Carl, of course. Kath had been to the races with Mr. Rams- dell and was real funny about it. Papa and Mama came up in the evening. The moonlight was lovely, going home. Aug. 25 Thurs. Miss Flack went home sick this morning and I had one of the most strenuous days yet. Just went out and got a scrap of lunch and right back J.W. was incon- siderate as usual. Took a nap right after supper - was so tired. And didn't have much evening. Aug. 26. Friday. Still lovely. Lura has gone to the country for a week's vacation. Claude came home last night. I lunched with Papa at Sibley's and suppered with Edith J. at the White Kitchen & then we took the car for
