Aug 30 Sun. Still raining. Trudy & I spent most of the morning up in my room and this p.m. went up to Claude's. Found him working on the Brickbuilder Library competition. Had a long visit with Char - all about "Smith" College and saw her big book of Souvenirs & photographs. Still gloomy Monday. Aug 31. Mon. (The longest siege in some time) Trudy lunched with me at Sibley's - & then came up to Lura's - Mary

came later - looking fine. J.W. is home from N.Y. (after 3 weeks) and "Zaza" Blackall from Kennebunk. This evening we did cross stitch & read aloud. Sept. 1 Tues. A long and enthusiastic letter from skipper Hamilton today. Weather slightly better. Miss Foote made a long call in the evening & Trudy & I walked down Plymouth Ave. with her. Lura came over, on her way to Miss Thomas'. Sept. 2 Wed. Really fine at last. Trudy left at 8:50! I went to the station with her. Mate Willard came this p.m. and staid all night.
