we lay and looked at the stars and laved our feel in the cool water, till
finally we came inside the pretty cottage (which is like a
Jack-a-lantern at night) and "assisted" Hamilton making his map.
July 27 Monday.
Up betimes this morning (8 or so) but the milk boy came first, with
last night's milk (and no explanation) We watched Hamilton
go off with Mr. Hanson to get a boom for the
Hanson's dock, and just after he put his troll in
he hauled out a good - sized pike! We were going
berrying, but H.
didn't get back with the boat, so we strolled over on to the rocks
beyond the narrows (with the view of "Duazyupleze", the
Mosher's island) and read Bab

and did sewing &c. while Helen
read George Ade's "Girl Proposition" aloud.
We hailed Ham. (who was at work with
Mr. H
