I ate breakfast in my bathrobe and slept again till 11, except that Zendavesta demanded admittance two or three times. It was a lovely day, after all, when I got up to see it. Made prints and read Scribner's, ate dinner, helped 'swash dishes & loafed generally till about four - when I went up to Chattie's again - Found her alone. We talked awhile, on the piazza (She was reading Claude's "Sleeping Beauty" in the Craftsman)

and then went up on the Pinnacle with Sandy, (the collie) It was funny - we wd. climb till the grass got so slippery we couldn't. Then we'd sit down and look at the view awhile & talk - Chat told me lots more about the tragedy in John Graham's life! Finally we got to the top (met Murray Crosby - fat and un-romantic and his wife & another lady) After we'd seen the magnificent view - and it is magnificent - we went on up thro' the woods - where I'd never been - along the ridge of the mountain, gathering golden rod and woodbine. Came to the forsaken old burying ground - a most picturesque place. Especially where wonderful statues
