We sat on the piazza several hours - watching the wind and the
weather and the beauties of nature, and incidentally looking for the
red and black funnell over berry-island. Eventually it came, (almost two)
but we knew they wd. have had dinner, so after waving ecstatically
and dipping the flags (but they wouldn't dip) and recognizing several
people on the boat who weren't there, and being saluted, we calmed
down and had a cozy lunch by ourselves (eggs, toast & tea &c.)
and were all in beautiful shape to receive the guests - (and me with
one film to kodak
the Arrival) It was only Mother,
in the steel boat (and she bought more film) as Kate and the Moshers
arrived later in
Mr. Hanson's sail boat. "Mother" was delighted with the house, later Kate was (she never missed the "Ph.D.")
and still later the Mosher's (especially Mary) were rendered speechless and
decided to build on Duazyupleseinstantly. Of course we all explored the island.
Rested and were photographed at "Charlotte" and spanned Hamilton's unfinished bridge - and admired
the the "meadow-rocks" and the narrows. It was a beautiful evening. Such coloring - the
heavy clouds on the outskirts of the sky gave lovely
