All the neighbors called - we had to eat Supper while some of them were there, and then we had a big bonfire (too big) out doors - and then a fire in the living room fireplace, inside - was very sleepy Sept. 7. Mon. but didn't sleep quite so late this Labor Day morning. It got cloudy. I left about 8:15 - Mr. W. rowing me up - And had a perfectly de- lightful ride down to Lakeville stopping both sides of the lake - at all the principal places. The train was late at the junction and full of interesting excursion people from Elmira & Corning. Didn't get in till about noon - I simply loafed (most luxuriously) all the p.m. till time to dress & meet the 5:55 train. And Edith Andrews, on her way to college. She was as interesting as usual - "girly-girly" and nice - Has lost 11 pounds this summer and looks better - Is quite disgusted with Connie. And off for a week's good time at Boston and
