fireworks at Charlotte and the
sh entrance into the harbor at last. I
didn't leave my friend till the last minute. Then saw the baggage
and customs man about my trunk (I left my key) and finally got out on the
dock where
Mother was waiting for me - with Frank who had come for Chattie. Of course we talked fast, going to
the city - and all the way home, in fact, and it always is "good to be home".
Aug. 7. Fri.
Took the last two rolls films on the roll, in
the back yard this morning, and began hum-drum business again - tho'
it never is
humdrum just after a nice vacation! Saw about pictures & things
Frank is to take, and
Lura about selling their house (It is sold!) and Edith stopped for me. And it is Con's last day before he goes to his wedding, and
Claude eats with us while Char is in Syracuse
(It seems so good). One likes one's hot bath
tub, too.
Aug 8. Sat.
A busy morning (Saturday always is!) Got my trunk and selected one
for Miss Dinehart. Printed pictures
most of the afternoon. Claude went to
Mumford. In the evening went with
Zaza
to see the Lyceum Company in the
"Nominee" - not as good as some - but Mr.
Truesdale is still very acceptable. The dear boy entertained us at supper. How I love my Claude!
