5/15 Norway II
May 15 Fri. right on - It was beautiful. I had to go back for my wheel & staid to supper. Went to Burton Holmes' last lecture tonight. Chattie went too & sat next to me. It was very good. May 16 Sat My birthday - a lovely day. Had lots of beautiful things, 5 stocks from Lura! one & "Lady Rose" from Edith
! Flowers from "Zaza"' a check for $10.00 from dear Claudie &c &c. Con invited me up the river in the "Cinderella" (re christened) & we went about 5:30 and had a lovely time. He furnished lunch, "Educators", cream cheese, grapefruit, chocolate peppermints, oranges &c. We didn't get home till 9:30. It was a little cloudy but nice. May 17 Sun. Another lovely day. Had quite a long chat with Miss Dinehart - who has been sick - about 25 orphans have the measles! Went up to beautiful Cro'nest and helped set out bushes, garden, play with the dogs &c. Took some pictures. Char gave me a pretty birthday handkerchief. I took the twins'
pictures this morning, with proud Papa Theo and Ernest
. Herma holding them. This p.m. took a long bicycle ride - way out to Maplewood and stopped at Mary's
coming back and had a nice little visit on their pleasant front porch. Other things have been happening, but things I don't want to write down here.
