Jan 2. Fri.Trudyleft this morning, to return via. Owego.
I staid down to lunch and was so tired tonight I just took a bath,
washed my hair and got into my wrapper as soon as possible, going to
bed soon afterward.
Jan. 4 Sun.
Yesterday, busy as usual, Today read "Typhoon" &
ate Huyler's. Dear Claude
came down. This p.m. called at Lura's
(not home) and Matie Hawley's
(ditto). & Mary's, where I
made a long call in her room - She had a big lamp lit to heat it (!)
as she had a cold. Had a nice, old fashioned call, just the same.
Got home for supper. Plantz gave a chafing dish
supper in 3 courses to
James & afterward they came down
stairs - Jim starts on his
vacation, to
Montreal, tomorrow & says he will call on
Maude Weir Mackenzie. I gave
him my card introducing him.
Jan 24 Sat.
And he did, too, he has just been telling me how glad she was to see
him and I much he liked her and what a good time he had, altogether.
This is a fine winter's day - thermometer 7° - and has been good
sleighing since the beginning. If it wasn't for the soft coal it would
be
1903.
