They got wilder up that way. That is, rockier and not so densely
wooded. We passed a narrow channel ("where you go for pond lilies",
Mr. S. said) and got into
unknown waters - wandered about the edge of a big island, and finally
landed on it (a milk raw away as we did so) and discovered, inside,
a lovely little lily-pond. So I took their pictures. The pond's and
Billy Sing's. Afterwards we
wandered over other islands. The only people in the world, apparently!
What a seemingly strange but really simple thing to do - and I did
enjoy it - for Mr. S.
isn't bad company and the day was ideal - such sun and clouds! And I
felt so happy and far away from fuss and bother!
Mr. S. Knows Hal
Weir, and surveyed with him down
Penetang way, three or four years ago. We got
back, in a leisurely way, between twelve and one, but Mr. S. didn't stay to lunch, as he
wanted to be home when the boat went by, (due at 12) to salute his
twin sister, who was to be on. I had a nice lunch on the piazza with
Chattie
and Papa Davis and the boat came
not, (it was very late) so of course Helen & Ham, didn't
either
