friends and were all invited over to the McIntosh's to supper.Mr. McI. asked me to go in his canoe, but I didn't because it came right to stow me in a boat where I rowed four ladies. (He referred to this later, in grieved tones! but I "squared" him) Mr. McI. said I "pulled a strong oar!" (The dear man!) We had a jolly little supper Hamilton, Helen, Mr. McI. and I, with "Miss Millie" and "Miss Belle

" hovering Miss Belle
went to her patient, Miss Phair, who had hurt her knee in a hole in Oldfield's old dock at the hotel. After supper we sat on the piazza and Helen talked to the girls and Mr. McI., Hamilton and I had a long talk about deers and dogs and hunting and the hunted - (more stories - wonderful deer &c - all something plausible! but oh! this Georgian Bay air!!) Hamilton and I sailed back alone again, in a fair wind, while "Jack
" and "Addie" paddled Helen home. We found Helen there on our return, and Chat had a nice supper ready (peanut sandwiches & toasted & blueberries and milk). We had a good deal of "jollying" about the "steel boat"
