Mrs. Chibbs (a colored lady) served and Char's "Hattie
" waited on table - we had bullion & cheese wafers, chicken & mushrooms, peas, potatoes in jackets (but taken out first & seasoned) bread, butter, jell, apple-celery & nut salad served in red apples, coffee, chocolate blanc mange with whipped cream and birthday cake. All very nice and everyone seemed jolly and enjoyed it. Helen had to go early but the rest stayed and talked and played "Crambo" &c. after they went home I sat up and worked on my cross stitch Xmas collars. Dec 19 Sat. Busy shoppy winter's day.
