out to the campus just in time to see the Varsity make 2 touch downs
(them were 3 in all) as darkness fell. The Niagaras were O. Then
after supper I went down and heard
Dr. Barbour's lecture - illustrated - on
Malta & Athens. Read
"Sir Charles Danvers" later (Char lent me.) Sunday was still lovely, but cloudy. Took a
long
11/16
long bicycle ride from 11:30 to 1:30 - out past the burned
Country Club and 5 horsemen (one Mr.Ramsdell) who had started out early
from the castle. They were singing! I inspected the "Harris
Farm" which the club talks of buying and came back by devious,
but lovely cross roads over to Monroe Ave - and
up to the new Orphan Asylum site
- which is beautiful - with a view both ways. Stopped 10 minutes to
see Kate Davis - just home from
her flying trip to Hamburg & back on the
Pretoria. The afternoon I spent in my corner reading "Sir
Charles" in my red wrapper - with a little rest with
Zenda at dusk. Con
was here to supper. The Dear Boy
comes every day. He and his Charlotte seem so happy
11/17/02
and I am so glad! Today dark & rainy. I got
a new long coat.
