(about 5) I rode out past the Country Club and back.
Met Mr.
& Mrs. Walter Smith
and a guest - and lots of other people in traps and autos. It was
nice out there. Stopped at Lura's flat
a few minutes, coming home.
Sun. Sept. 27
Cloudy and a little rain this a.m. I loafed and read. Beautiful big
clouds this p.m. Rode over to Lura's.
Helen
was there and Mary
came. The Browers
called and when they were gone we girls (mostly Mary
and I) hung the pictures. Home to supper
Mon. Sept. 28.
Cold and rainy. "Zaza"
had a cold and went
home. I went to the first cooking lesson alone & made tea and cheese
crackers and learned to make cocoa. It's rather fun.
Tues. Sept. 29Mr. (Arthur) Neiner came today. Has
Planz's room - He "floor-walks" at
McCurdy's - Pierre Purcell gave
Papa
tickets to "Beauty and the Beast" and
Mother and I went. It was very pretty and very
spectacular, with some common- place vaudeville & pretty songs mixed
in - very "New York". Saw Mr.
& Mrs. CW. Smith
and their guest there, near us & then in a box. Also a number of
others I know. A witch's dance and a Hawaiian (?) dance were both
unusually pretty.
