of "Hiawatha" - very funny. Found Papa home from Watertown when we got back. Oct. 31 Friday A lovely day and Hallowe'en - Dear Boy went on the Empire. I had a nice little chat in his room this morning. Tonight Edith, Jim Arnold, Planz, Mother and I went up to Cro'nest and spent the evening putting finishing touches on everything - the china - the linen- the door curtains - the touches here and there that made it homey and habitable. Jim went to the car with Edith comparatively early - and came back - and the rest of us staid till toward midnight and walked home in the frosty starlight - almost the hour the ghosts walk. Nov. 1 Sat. A busy day of course. Rode "Diana" up to Cro'nest at noon - It was locked but I had a key - and it did look lovely! All sunny and bright, and warm and cozy. "Louise", the girl, came in the afternoon, so it was very last chance to ramble thro' alone. Went down to the beautiful sun- dial Mrs. Hoyt gave him - on the beautiful stone pedestal he designed - and it was five minutes of two! In the evening (after a supper downtown) Mother & I went up for the very last touches & to see that
