to go anyway) The Howson's were just sailing up to
the Pointe with
Mr. Howson, so declined. We went home and ate rather
a hurried bread - and milk supper, and then took
Howson's big boat and Chat,
Helen, Hamilton
and I all rowed down to the Sing
Camp - It was still and beautiful and a most lovely row - Mr. S.
rushed down to pull us into the rocks and in his agitation dropped
his newly lighted cigar into the water. (He said he was "rattled" -
much to the girls' delight!) All the Mackintosh crowd
were there, even Miss Phair with her game knee -
They had a big fireplace of stones built, and a rustic seat, and
steamer rug and blankets spread on the rocks - Mr. S.got out his big surveyed chart of
the islands and showed me, and the sky grew yellow and pick and
gorgeous- and just the right minute - and out of just the right
shadow - came past the indians, paddling a canoe I had a nice talk
with Mr. S's twin sister,
Mrs. Moore, and Miss Isabel M.
