July 8-9 Tues-Wed Busy days, of course. J.W. away from the office and things buzzing - Bought 5 shares of Stromberg-Carlsen Preferred stock at 7% thro' Lunt & Co. yesterday The river is very high from a cloudburst up the valley. And much property being destroyed. It is actually on the Erie tracks - in July! Tues. took a little bicycle ride and Wednesday had a long visit with Meta and Amelie. Amelie & John go down the St. Lawrence Friday - and to Montreal,Quebec and the Saguenay. July 10 Thurs. Lovely day. Edith and I went over to the lake (YWCA) to supper. Stopped at Mae 's - on the bluff - coming back. Mrs. Wray was there and after our chat we all walked down to the beach together they to see the fireworks & E. & I to come home. July 12 Saturday Mae invited us down to dinner Saturday and of course we went. Got there in the middle of the afternoon and sat on the piazza most of the time till supper - Billy DeGraff is staying down there and after supper all five of us walked way up to Rigney Bluff, a most beautiful walk along the shore - especially just about sunset. Part of the way we walked in the edge of an oatfield
