Mae insisted on our staying over a day, so we all
walked up to the Greenleaf farm in the lovely moonlight and
Edith and I telephoned home.
Allie Parsons was there and showed me her silk
quilt &c. and "thought she heard men's voices" out side (John
& Billy at the pump!) and we "jollied"
deGraff about her a good deal. Edith and I slept in a front room facing
the lake and a big casement window was opened wide
all night.
July 13 Sun.
Sunday was a lazy day - warm - but a fine breeze - we spent most of
it on the big front piazza facing the lake and
watching the sailboats &c.&c. John and
Billy and "Alphonse" were
very entertaining and I don't know when I've laughed so continuously.
Of course we did a good deal of eating - dinner and supper (in the
kitchen) and reluctantly went home before dark Sunday night.
