"we" mended the steps to the cabin and then went over to the spring - when the boys had taken the canoe down to the water and then paddled down thro' the winding channels to the Lake-outlet - and there made Ashby plain and two castles in the sand. The tournament plain - The Knights, the forest, the roads and all the rest! It was great. The Lake and bay were very beautiful - a "lady's breeze" and blue and dotted with sails - Flack and I came back at Sunset - perfect riding - Supper tasted good, too - and a glass of milk and brown bread sandwich on the way home. One real hot day last week I took half a day off and dressed up in my white ducks and went down to Mae Stull's with my "work" for the afternoon.
